The UNC Division of Cardiology is committed to the highest standards of excellence in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases. Clinicians and researchers lead a multidisciplinary health care team offering the most proven and modern approach to heart care to people in North Carolina and individuals in need of specialized care throughout the Southeast. Physicians in the Division of Cardiology are consistently included in Best Doctors in America and the U.S. News & World Report ‘Top Doctors’ edition. UNC Hospitals is nationally recognized by the American Heart Association Mission: Lifeline Program as a Gold Receiving hospital for STEMI heart attack care, and are an accredited Chest Pain Center with percutaneous coronary intervention by the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care (SCPC).

The Fund for Excellence promotes building new clinical services, providing seed funding for cutting-edge research projects, enhancement of training programs for cardiology fellows, and supporting the careers of the most promising junior faculty members.

UNC Structural Heart Program Fund
The Structural Heart Program has treated over 100 patients since its establishment in 2014. The minimally invasive procedural treatments enabled by this program provide a valuable and life-saving alternative to open-heart surgery. Gifts to this fund will support the mission of advancing clinical care, training current and future cardiologists, and conducting innovative research.

Women’s Heart Program
Commitment to women and the reduction of their risk for cardiovascular disease is a priority of the UNC Division of Cardiology. This program serves as a source of health education, prevention, and treatment of the number one killer of women of North Carolina.
